Short answer: we will know for sure after 19 November 2026. In GTA V, entering any cheat code turned off trophies (PS) and achievements (Xbox) for the rest of that play session. Loading a save restored them. We expect GTA 6 to follow a similar rule.
What happened in GTA V
- Using a cheat disabled trophies and achievements until you reloaded a save.
- Many cheats could not be used during certain missions.
- Cheats did not work in GTA Online.
How to protect your progress in GTA 6
- Make a manual save before entering any cheat.
- Use cheats for free-roam fun, then reload your save before continuing missions.
- If you are hunting trophies or achievements, avoid cheats until you have earned the ones you want.
We will update this guide after testing on launch day, including whether GTA 6 shows a warning, blocks saving, or turns off trophies and achievements.
